Infrastructure
There major infrastructure projects in Croatia for the period 2004- 2005 included:

Croatia Motorway rehabilitation project— the project is aimed at the rehabilitation of 418 km of motorways in Croatia, which are mainly part of the Pan European Corridors X and Xa. The project is estimated at EUR 125 mln., and supported by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) with EUR 46.5 mln.;

Railway sections of corridor Vc – the objective is to upgrade Corridor Vc's railway axis passing through Slavonia allowing for the resumption of freight and passenger traffic. The project is financed by the EIB, the Croatian Railways, and by the Croatian government - which provided EUR 40 mln., EUR 35 mln. and EUR 22 mln. respectively;

Rijeka Gateway Project – the project has three components: Rijeka port restructuring and modernisation, port/city interface redevelopment, and international road development. The total cost of the project is estimated at USD 266.1 mln, as the lead agency is the World Bank. The project is due in the second half of 2009;

Water and Environment/Water Waste—the project is aimed at achieving gradual compliance with EU standards. The total price of the infrastructure upgrades to be made amounts to EUR 270 mln. The project is supported by the EBRD and should be accomplished by mid-2007.
